BALLS After Dark.47 The Professionals
In which Beeso and the Doc discuss being down in the park, things Beeso needs to apologise for, the worst part of the pod, ashes of Empire, hoarding old shirts, washed out or washed up?, when good albums turn bad, genre be good, quantity and quality, contempoilaries, you are not helping, Beeso falls down a well, Nonagon Harder, the Steven Adams of dub, the cultural imperialism inherent in chip packet colours, and having a story to tell. (Regarding which, see below for late breaking news on the subject...)
Albums reviewed this week: The Cat Empire's pension scheme, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's Nonagon Infinity on loop (naturally) and classic Oils On The Water, live in '85 on Goat Island. Beeso's off this weekend pillaging the Noosa Wine & Food Festival (which you can probably hear about on Cheeeeesy) so Parquet Courts, The Living End and Fat Freddy's BOATS will be on next week's #BALLS After Dark. All of the above, as always, are on the BALLS Spotify playlist.
STOP PRESS: Emergency guest host @adamhfoto has picked the Lumineers' Cleopatra as our New Album for this week. His thinking behind the selection process: "I asked around work to our cool kids, who were given the task to find an album the cool kids like but we'd probably hate." STRAP IN FOR SOME #QUALITY #CONTENT.
